From Fes to the Desert and Imperial Cities in 7 Days
Over these 7 days and 6 nights, you will visit numerous impressive sites in Morocco. We will start by exploring Meknes, the Ismaili capital, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will also discover the charming blue city of Chefchaouen.
Additionally, we will visit the main attractions of Rabat, the capital, Casablanca, and Marrakech. During the tour, we will enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass. We will also visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the film studios in the city of Ouarzazate, and the impressive Todra Gorges.
The tour includes a visit to the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, where you can ride camels, spend the night in a camp in the middle of the desert, and enjoy magical sunsets and sunrises over the dunes.
We will also visit the cedar forest, home to the Barbary macaques, and the city of Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, the tour concludes with a return to Fez.

Itinerary
Day 1: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis Ruins – Chefchaouen
The 7-day tour begins with an early transfer from the airport or your accommodation in Fez. We depart for Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where we will visit: Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, the granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Free time for lunch. Next, we drive 30 km from Meknes to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can admire its mosaics, columns, and ancient arches. Afterwards, we head north through Ouazzane to reach Chefchaouen, the blue city in the Rif Mountains, famous for its streets and blue-painted buildings. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Rabat
After breakfast, enjoy a walk through the blue city. Then we drive to Rabat, the capital and imperial city on the Atlantic coast. We will visit the main attractions, including the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Overnight stay in a riad.
Day 3: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel along the coast to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic center and largest city. We will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche, Mohammed V Square, and make a stop at Rick’s Cafe. Then we continue to Marrakech, the Red City, where you can stroll through the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square. Overnight stay in a riad.
Day 4: Guided Tour of Marrakech (45 min by car / 3 hours on foot)
After breakfast, we explore Marrakech’s main attractions with a local guide. Visits include the impressive Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, the medina with its souks, and Jemaa el-Fna Square. We will also admire the Koutoubia Mosque from the outside. In the afternoon, we visit Jardin Majorelle (online reservation required) and explore Gueliz, the modern district of Marrakech, before returning to the riad.
Day 5: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley (6 hours by car)
We drive through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, stopping to enjoy panoramic views and Berber villages. We visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and the series Game of Thrones. A 40-minute walk through the kasbah offers spectacular views. We then continue to Ouarzazate, with free time for lunch, and drive through the Valley of Roses via the large palm grove of Skoura. Finally, we arrive in Boumalne Dades for an overnight stay with dinner included.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes – Camel Ride – Luxury Camp (5 hours by car)
After breakfast, we explore the Dades Valley and stop at a panoramic viewpoint. We continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges to walk and admire the red cliffs. Then we cross the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we arrive at the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga and take a camel ride to enjoy the sunset. We reach a luxury desert camp for dinner, traditional music, and a Berber dance show around the campfire.
Day 7: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fez (7 hours by car)
After breakfast, we visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, with its bustling souk. Then we continue to Erfoud to see fossil marble workshops. We follow the Ziz River and stop for panoramic views of the Ziz Valley. Free time for lunch in Midelt. Next, we visit the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques, and finally Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. The tour concludes with a return to Fez.
