4-Day Itinerary from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
Your private tour begins with a journey through the Atlas Mountains, stopping in the town of Ifrane to explore the famous Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques. There will be an opportunity for lunch before continuing through the mountains, enjoying the stunning landscapes of Midelt and passing through the Ziz Valley en route. Finally, arrive in Merzouga, where you will spend the night in a local riad.

Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Tour and Camel Ride
Explore the desert region around the Erg Chebbi dunes. Experience the life of nomads and the unique contrast of the desert. Visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy traditional Gnawa music. For lunch, taste a traditional Berber pizza in the historic town of Rissani. In the afternoon, take a camel ride to admire the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner with tagine, mint tea, and Berber music around the campfire while observing the stars and moon over the incredible Sahara Desert.

Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Gorges
Wake up early to watch the sunrise before heading to a local hotel for breakfast and to freshen up. Continue the journey toward Ouarzazate, visiting Berber villages along the way and the Todra Gorges and Dades Valley. Overnight at a local hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, continue to Ouarzazate via the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” stopping at Kalaa Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose festival. Then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, known as a filming location for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator, as well as the famous HBO series Game of Thrones. Finally, cross the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass to Marrakech, where the tour concludes.
