Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
Begin with a drive through the Rif Mountains, passing the city of Tetouan. To fully enjoy the scenery, stop in Chefchaouen at the foot of the mountains. The medina reflects strong Spanish architectural influence, as it was part of “Spanish Morocco.” The main square is full of colorful artisan shops and numerous rooftop restaurants and cafés, where you can spend the afternoon enjoying the breeze and views.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast, continue to Volubilis, passing through Ouazzane and other Rif villages. Explore the Roman ruins and learn about Morocco’s history. Then proceed to Meknes for lunch and visit the historic medina walls, Bab el-Mansour, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. In the afternoon, arrive in Fez for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Exploring Fez
Discover Morocco’s oldest city, wandering its narrow, labyrinthine streets. Visit the Royal Palace gate, the old Jewish quarter where the first Mellah was built in Morocco, and the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest in the region. Also explore the tanneries, Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, visit local cooperatives and enjoy a panoramic view of the Fez medina.
Day 4: Fez – Rabat – Casablanca
Fez is composed of three distinct parts: Fez el Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the oldest area with over 9,000 narrow streets and walls; Fez Jdid, home to the Jewish quarter; and the “Ville Nouvelle,” the newer part created during the French occupation. In the afternoon, travel to Rabat and then to Casablanca.
Day 5: Casablanca – Asilah – Tangier
On the final day, continue from Casablanca to Asilah and finally return to Tangier, concluding your tour.
