This 7-day tour from Casablanca explores the best of northern and central Morocco. Begin with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, then continue to Rabat to explore the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Visit the Atlantic coast in Asilah and cross the Rif Mountains to reach the blue city of Chefchaouen.

Explore the medina of Fez with its university, madrasas, and the Jewish quarter Mellah. The journey continues southeast through Ifrane, the cedar forests of Azrou, Midelt, and the Ziz Valley until reaching Merzouga for a camel ride over the dunes and an overnight stay in a desert camp.

Visit the spectacular Todra Gorges and Dades Gorges, the Valley of the Roses, and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah before finishing in Marrakech with its palaces, gardens, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, then returning to Casablanca Airport.

Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat
Arrival at Casablanca Airport where you will be welcomed and start the tour with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque outside Mecca. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to admire the Hassan Tower and stroll through the Kasbah of the Udayas before checking into your riad or hotel in the medina.

Day 2: Rabat – Asilah – Tangier – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, travel to Chefchaouen via the coastal town of Asilah. In Asilah, visit the Skalla fortress with panoramic sea views and the medina, famous for its art festival. If time permits, a short stop in Tangier before continuing through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the blue city of Morocco.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Fez
After breakfast, depart for Fez, Morocco’s spiritual city. Explore the medina, visiting historic sites such as Al Karaouine Mosque and University, Bouanania Madrasa, traditional tanneries, and the Nejjarine Fountain. After lunch, visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter Mellah, and a local ceramics cooperative. End the day with a panoramic viewpoint over the medina.

Day 4: Fez – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Travel southeast toward Merzouga passing through Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Berber monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, cross the lush Ziz Valley and Berber villages to Erfoud and Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty. Arrive in Merzouga for a camel ride on the dunes and an overnight stay in a desert camp with dinner included.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Early morning to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel to Merzouga. After breakfast, travel to the Todra Gorges, Morocco’s highest and narrowest canyon. After lunch, enjoy an optional walk through the fields and visit an ancient mud village. Continue to the Dades Valley to admire rock formations called “monkey fingers” and sand castles, with an overnight stay in a hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 6: Dades – Valley of the Roses – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, cross the Dades Valley, known as the route of a thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Kalaa M’gouna, the city of roses, to buy rose water. Continue through Skoura and the Valley of the Birds, visiting Kasbah Ameridil before heading to Marrakech. In the evening, stroll through the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, enjoying magicians, storytellers, and musicians.

Day 7: Exploring Marrakech and Transfer to Casablanca Airport
After breakfast, explore Marrakech, visiting Jemaa el-Fna, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, and the modern district of Gueliz. In the afternoon, transfer to Casablanca Airport for your departure flight.
