Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
Your private tour begins with a journey through the Atlas Mountains, stopping in the town of Ifrane to explore the famous Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt mountain pass and the Ziz Gorges, where you can stop for photos and enjoy local mint tea, before reaching Midelt. Finally, arrive in Merzouga, ending the day with dinner and overnight at a local riad.
Day 2: Merzouga – Camel Ride to Desert Camp
Today, explore the desert region around the Erg Chebbi dunes. Learn about the life of nomads and the stunning desert landscapes. Visit the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music. For lunch, enjoy a traditional Berber pizza in the historic town of Rissani. In the afternoon, take a camel ride to admire the sunset over the dunes and spend the night at a desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner with tagine, mint tea, and Berber music around the campfire under the incredible starry sky of the Sahara Desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Wake up and head to a local hotel to freshen up and have breakfast before continuing toward Ouarzazate. Along the way, visit Berber villages near the Todra Gorges and Dades Valley. Overnight at a local hotel in the Dades Gorge with dinner included.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, continue to Ouarzazate via the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” stopping at Kalaa Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose festival. Overnight at a local hotel.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, famous as a filming location for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator, and the HBO series Game of Thrones. Then cross the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass to Marrakech, where you will spend the night at a local hotel.
Day 6: Marrakech – Guided Tour
This day is dedicated to exploring Marrakech. Visit the city’s main attractions, including the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, the Royal Palace, and several museums. Explore the modern part of the city, Gueliz, including the Menara Gardens and Jardin Majorelle, before concluding the tour at your hotel or the airport.
